Facing History and Ourselves

People Make Choices.
Choices Make History.

"Facing History enables us to collaborate, take risks, connect our subjects with our childrens' lives, discover powerful stories to share with young people, consider new activities and - hopefully - influence the choices they make later in life. It works."

-Facing History Educator

Facing History and Ourselves uses lessons of history to challenge teachers and their students to stand up to bigotry and hate. We provide educators with academically rigorous resources and proven student-centred strategies that focus on cultivating engaged and informed citizens, ensuring the realisation of a more compassionate and inclusive society.

Learn More About Our Proven Approach and How We Support Teachers

In our current climate the need for informed, engaged young citizens is greater than ever and Facing History approaches use academic study to facilitate the critical thinking and compassion required for active citizenship.

We provide CPD for teachers to support students academic performance and develop critical analysis skills, inviting them to consider their moral and ethical choices.

Our evaluated approach consistently demonstrates that students are more motivated to learn and have increased confidence to challenge inequalities in society.
