Teaching for Equity and Justice: A Conversation with Linda Darling-Hammond

Join the American Federation of Teachers and Facing History and Ourselves for a conversation about equity in schools with national education leader Linda Darling-Hammond.

At a time when many courageous educators and administrators across the country are acknowledging that schools - in both their practices and outcomes - are not always equitable across lines of race and class, how can we work to address these disparities? Dr. Darling-Hammond and Facing History Program Director Steven Becton will explore the historical roots of current inequities, the role of professional and personal learning opportunities for educators, and the importance of integrating social-emotional learning and civic education to empower all students. Participants in the webinar will receive free resources from Facing History to support culturally mediated and equitable practices that can help all students to find their voice, become critical thinkers, and be more engaged in their education.
