This workshop will equip teachers with interactive strategies to enrich conversations around identity, history, and choices. Facing History’s approach weaves in primary sources and historical background essential for teaching works such as Night, To Kill a Mockingbird, Warriors Don’t Cry, and Farewell to Manzanar. Excerpts from these specific texts will be used in the workshop, but the strategies will be applicable to other works, as well.
After this workshop, you will:
- Become part of the Facing History educator network, with access to a rich slate of educator resources, including unit and lesson plans, study guides, and multimedia
- Be able to borrow books and DVDs through our online lending library at no cost
