This workshop will prepare you to create a safe and reflective place for your students to process and understand the difficult and violent history of Canada’s Indian Residential Schools. We’ll introduce you to interactive strategies and resources that engage students in this history, and human behaviour, while confronting the issues that this violent time period deals with.  Students will not only be better prepared to face the history and legacies of Indian Residential Schools but also to make connections that reach beyond this particular history.

Following the educator workshop, Facing History and Ourselves Canada is pleased to host a screening of In Jesus' Name: Shattering the Silence of St. Anne's Residential School, directed by Susan G. Enberg and Edmund Metatawabin, in association with the survivors of St. Anne’s Residential School.
