This two-day seminar is a partnership between the Museum of Tolerance and Facing History.

Participants will explore the voices of young people during the Holocaust – what factors contributed to their identity, what choices they made, and what students today can learn by studying the Holocaust with an eye towards better understanding ordinary people and human behavior. Using Facing History and Ourselves curriculum and unique exhibits of the Museum of Tolerance, including its newest one on Anne Frank, the program also features the opportunity to meet and hear a Holocaust survivor. Everyone walks away with new insights, tools and valuable classroom resources.
In this seminar, you will:
- Tour the Museum of Tolerance, including their newest exhibit on Anne Frank
- Meet with and hear from a local Holocaust survivor
- Receive a copy of Holocaust and Human Behavior and The Diary of Anne Frank
- Engage with Common Core-aligned strategies for middle and high school classrooms
After this seminar, you will:
- Become part of the Facing History Educator Network, with access to a rich slate of educator resources, including downloadable unit and lesson plans, study guides, and online tools
- Be able to borrow books and DVDs through our online lending library at no cost
Airfare and hotel scholarships may be available from the Museum of Tolerance as funding allows. Apply to early workshops for best opportunity. Given the Museum of Tolerance grant guidelines, this workshop is currently only open to Californias teachers.
