Upcoming Workshops, Courses & Seminars

Our workshops, courses and seminars provide deep engagement with Facing History content, pedagogy, and teaching strategies. Throughout the year we have online and self-paced opportunities as well as in-person events that provide an opportunity to engage with peers and Facing History staff. We also offer webinars, providing a great way to try us out and get introduced to a theme, practice, or particular historical moment.

Pricing can vary from event to event, with some events being free and others requiring registration fees. Look for these details within individual event listings.

Democracy in Action: Teaching for Civic Agency Workshop Series

What are the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that young people need to create a more just, inclusive, and equitable world? Join us for an in-depth, interactive online professional development series exploring the pivotal role of youth civic engagement. Participants will explore concepts and frameworks for teaching civic agency, including through student-led civic action projects, in student-centered classrooms that value student identities and model democratic principles of inclusion, civility, and the common good.

This workshop is aligned to the Massachusetts History and Social Studies Civics Frameworks. Educators from other New England states beyond Massachusetts are also welcome, and those from outside New England will be able to participate if space allows.
