Keeping young students engaged in the classroom can be a never-ending task for educators. Facing History and Ourselves often provides teachers with the tools to make such a task less daunting. Last week, the President, U.S. Program, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Allan Golston, recognized Facing History’s efforts in an article for the Huffington Post about engaging teachers through community.
Within the article, Golston cites a study from Columbia Teachers College that “found 90 percent of teachers who participated in Facing History and Ourselves said it exposed them to new teaching methods and content, and increased their positive feelings toward teaching.”
