Commercial Appeal Features Memphis Upstanders

Facing History and Ourselves in Memphis today announced the people and groups who will be memorialized on their “Upstanders Mural,” a public art project that will cover one entire wall of their office complex at 115 Huling Avenue in the South Main district of downtown Memphis.

Columnist David Waters has also featured each of the upstanders in today’s Commercial Appeal. “There isn't a wall big enough to honor all of the Memphians who have risked life or livelihood to stand up for their rights or the rights of others,” he wrote.
