We Are Facing History: Change Starts with Us (Day and Evening Event)

Jon is author of CITIZENS: Why the Key to Fixing Everything is All of Us, and co-founder of the New Citizenship Project, a book and company that work to shift the dominant story of the individual in society from Consumer to Citizen. Among other plaudits, CITIZENS was recently listed by McKinsey as one of its Top 5 Recommended Books in its Summer Reading Guide 2022, and selected by the World Economic Forum for its CEO Book Club. 

Jon began his career with a decade in the advertising industry, winning the prestigious Big Creative Idea of the Year, before making a dramatic change. Driven by a deep need to understand the impact on society of 3,000 commercial messages a day, he gathered three Masters degrees, exploring Consumerism and its alternatives from every angle. In 2014, he co-founded the New Citizenship Project to bring the resulting ideas into contact with reality.

Annabel advises clients on organisational culture, ethical influence and navigating AI-driven transformation. She co-founded 'Conversations on AI' a cross sector tech ethics network, is an associate with Principia Advisory and a member of the City of London Corporation's 'Women Pivoting to Digital Taskforce'. 

Previously she spent 20 years building institutional asset management businesses and serves on the advisory councils of the Institute of Business Ethics International and Blueprint for a better business. She has an MA in Philosophy and AI, an MSc in Behavioural Science and is a CFA charterholder.

Drew Benvie is the founder and CEO of social media consultancy, Battenhall. He advises brands and figureheads internationally on social media strategies, and manages a team of specialists based in London, The US and Asia. Drew is known for writing the first Wikipedia page on social media in 2006, a notable milestone that highlights his early involvement and influence in the digital sphere. Alongside advising clients on social media, Drew campaigns for social media safety, and is a regular commentator on this topic in the mainstream media.

Zahed Amanullah is an experienced British-American writer, presenter, and researcher on countering targeted hate and extremism worldwide, with 30 years of experience in interfaith and counterextremism activism and analysis of Muslim communities worldwide. At ISD, he has pioneered research on the use of counter narratives to stem recruitment and propaganda by extremist groups in North America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He has testified to the UK and EU parliaments and has been featured in leading broadcast, print, and audio media. He is formerly Director of the Concordia Forum (2011-2022), a global Muslim leadership network, and is a graduate of UC Berkeley and the University of Bath.

Miriam Tomusk is the Programme Manager at Solutions Not Sides, where she delivers workshops bringing peacebuilders from Israel-Palestine to classrooms across the UK, to provide humanising encounters, diverse narratives and critical thinking skills to empower young people. She leads on comms for SNS' network for schools, the Olive Branch Award, which exists to provide a network of support for teachers. Miriam joined SNS with a background in the education and charity sectors where she was particularly interested in supporting young people in developing skills to prepare for university life and civil society. She has a BA in History and a PGDip in Theology and Religion, both from Oxford University.

Rachel is the Programme Lead for Youth and Universities at the Faith and Belief Forum, where she delivers interfaith leadership programmes for young people aged 18 to 30, including the UN award-winning ParliaMentors programme. Rachel holds a BA in Peace, Conflict, Justice Studies and Philosophy from the University of Toronto, and a MSc Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics. Rachel’s passions are experiential education and peacebuilding. She has facilitated dialogue programs between Israelis and Palestinians, run backpacking programmes in Israel-Palestine, and she was the Manager of Communications for a grassroots peacebuilding initiative in the West Bank. She has also taught Jewish education in Toronto, been the leader of a youth movement, and delivered many projects that focus on cultivating social leadership amongst young people of all backgrounds.

Magen Inon is a London-based father of three from Israel who is an educator and holds a PhD in philosophy of education. He has worked in various domains to cultivate liberal values and leadership skills, including with students at top universities, high-ranking military officers, promising young adults and inmates. Since the murder of his parents in the Hamas attack on Israel on the 7th October 2023, Magen Inon has become a leading voice for peace between Israelis and Palestinians within international media, local communities and the political elite.

Hamze Awawde is a Ramallah-based Palestinian peace activist and conflict resolution expert. Hamze holds a master's degree in global community development from the Hebrew University and a business degree from Birzeit University. Hamze's family was displaced in 1948 and has since been heavily impacted by the ongoing violence. His grandfather was a fighter that was killed in 1978, and his cousin

was recently shot by the IDF in Dura. For the last 12 years, he has been committed to leading programmes that bring Jewish Israelis and Palestinians together and believes that those directly impacted by the

conflict do not have the luxury of being extremists. Hamze is the Palestinian Regional Manager at Hands of Peace and a former programme director at Yala Young Leaders.

Mira Awad is an internationally acclaimed multidisciplinary artist and activist. A singer, songwriter, actress, scriptwriter and more, she has dedicated a career in the arts to the agenda of human empathy and solidarity. Nowadays she is a Storytelling Consultant helping cause driven companies and organizations engage with their audiences.
