Upstanders, Bystanders, and the Fight to Preserve Democracy
A conversation with Professor Michael Klarman and Desmond K. Blackburn, PhD, on what it looks like to protect our democracy and build a stronger, more connected society. This event will be hosted in-person.
How can we bridge the political divide in our country and preserve our democracy?
Join us on Friday, July 12 for a conversation with Professor Michael J. Klarman, Desmond K. Blackburn, PhD, CEO of Facing History & Ourselves, and Facing History Alum, Deztinee Geiger. Together we will discuss what it looks like to protect our democracy as we enter this election season, and the critical need to invest in civics education to create a stronger, more connected society.
Facing History supports educators to create classrooms that model civic engagement—where students learn that their voices matter—empowering them to be upstanders. We hope you will join us to gain inspiration and support our work to stand up to bigotry and hate.
