This interactive online workshop will introduce curriculum leaders and educators to Facing History & Ourselves’ approach to teaching about the Holocaust. Participants will explore primary sources, readings, and teaching strategies that engage students in this powerful history and the themes of decision-making, ethics, and responsibility. Come hear from school leaders who have implemented Facing History’s standards-aligned approach to teaching the Holocaust in their schools/districts. Educators will receive tools to teach the Holocaust in their classrooms.
Who should take this workshop: school leaders, department chairs, curriculum leaders, social studies teachers, English language arts teachers, and special education teachers serving 6th to 12th grade schools or classrooms
Cost: The full event cost of the workshop has been covered by generous funding from Facing History & Ourselves donors and partner organizations.
Time Commitment: Approximately 3 hours
Format: Facilitated Zoom meeting. This interactive workshop will include opportunities for conversation and facilitated breakout sessions. In alignment with Facing History’s privacy policy, we will not be recording the sessions, so please plan to join us live.

Certificate of Completion
This event qualifies for a Certificate of Completion. At the conclusion of the event, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for 3 hours of attendance. Certificates may be submitted for a school’s or district’s approval towards professional development credits. Requirements for professional development credits vary by state. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they are meeting the requirements of their school, organization, and/or state.
