See DetailsThose in our New York Partner Schools Network are invited to our annual Fall Gathering on Tuesday, November 18 from 9 am - 3 pm at the YearUp office space. The theme of our gathering is Cultivating Communities of Care; join us as we engage in a day of learning focused on creating welcoming learning environments that prioritize care, relationships, and community.
This year’s featured guest is Cornelius Minor, a Brooklyn-based educator who works with teachers, school leaders, and leaders of community-based organizations to create spaces that are student-centered and empowering for all young people.
His latest book, We Got This, explores how the work of encouraging success for all learners is embedded in our everyday decisions, specifically in the choice to really listen to kids. He draws on his experience as a literacy teacher and coach as well as his love for hip-hop and Pokémon. We are excited to have the opportunity to learn from him in a hands-on session.
The day will also feature Facing History-led breakout sessions tailored for both school leaders and educators. As always, there will be opportunities to connect with others at PSN schools in our region to share best practices and challenges.
We encourage each school to bring a team of 4 people including 3 teachers and an administrator. Please be sure to register for all who plan on attending by Thursday, October 30, 2025.
