The Holocaust

In this workshop facilitators introduced the Shalom Hartman Institute’s Hitkansut L’Yom HaShoah, a powerful collection of resources designed to help structure Holocaust learning and remembrance. It includes sources that range from testimonies, to songs, poetry, and photos, and the sequence of associated activities offers an effective way to move students from the responsibility to remember to the commitment to remember responsibly. These ideas are core to the work of Facing History and Ourselves, and the workshop highlights ways to integrate Hitkansut with Facing History curriculum, pedagogy, and teaching strategies in order to support goals for the classroom. This workshop is intended for educators in a variety of middle school and high school contexts.

This webinar will feature Rebecca Starr, Director of Regional Programs at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America and David Rhodes, Program Associate on the Jewish Education Team at Facing History and Ourselves.
