See DetailsHolocaust literature offers a powerful lens to deepen historical understanding, strengthen critical thinking, and inspire meaningful reflection. How can Holocaust narratives help us grapple with profound questions about human behavior, responsibility, and moral decision-making? How can Holocaust literature help the memory of the Holocaust live on, and shape the way we continue to interact with our world? What power comes with telling your own story and engaging with the stories of others?
In this event from our Echoes of the Holocaust series, the Jewish Education Program of Facing History and Ourselves will spotlight a new Facing History collection, Teaching Holocaust Literature. Participants will explore the different resources and consider how integrating literature of the Holocaust into classroom study, community learning settings, and personal “to be read” lists can strengthen Holocaust memory and teach valuable lessons about our world today.
This workshop is brought to you by the Facing History and Ourselves Echoes of the Holocaust series, a communal conversation focusing on the voices of contemporary scholars, writers, and artists as they reflect on the relationship between Holocaust history and the present.
