Chicago Teacher Leadership Meeting #3
The Teacher Leadership Team is composed of selected classroom teachers who have demonstrated strong usage of Facing History & Ourselves materials. This event will occur in-person.
About this event:
Single Session
Our single professional learning sessions are designed to easily fit into your day. Typically one hour or less, these sessions explore timely and relevant topics including teaching strategies, current events, and more.
Instructor-Led
This professional learning event will be led by Facing History staff. When you register, you will receive instructions for how to attend the event.
As a member of the Teacher Leadership team, you will:
-
Serve as guides for Facing History to help us better understand an “on the ground” perspective of current educational trends and plan appropriate, supportive responses
-
Learn from each other, build community, and be in a space for deep, reflective conversation
-
Share input and feedback to make the work of Facing History in Chicago stronger and more effective for educators and students
-
Act as ambassadors and champions for Facing History in their classrooms, schools and districts
-
Open up your classrooms for opportunities such as classroom visits by community members or for implementing new content
This registration is for the 3rd teacher leadership team meeting taking place on January 18, 2024, 4:30pm - 6:00pm at the Erikson Institute: 451 N. LaSalle Drive Chicago, IL 60654.
During our time together, we are going to make space for anyone who is interested to engage with community members in a conversation about a “problem of practice”. If you are interested in engaging in a dialogue, please plan to bring an artifact or a short description of what you would like to ask the group about.
Through participation in the TLT educators will deepen their own work with and knowledge of Facing History, and have the opportunity to further build a community of core teachers. This year's theme will center on the teaching of inclusive American history.
This event will occur in-person at the Erickson Institute.
