Key Points

  1. Serve as guides for Facing History to help us better understand an “on the ground” perspective of current educational trends and plan appropriate, supportive responses

  2. Learn from each other, build community, and be in a space for deep, reflective conversation

  3. Share input and feedback to make the work of Facing History in Chicago stronger and more effective for educators and students

  4. Act as ambassadors and champions for Facing History in their classrooms, schools and districts

  5. Open up your classrooms for opportunities such as classroom visits by community members or for implementing new content

This registration is for the 2nd teacher leadership team meeting taking place on November 16, 2023, 4:30pm - 6:00pm at the Erikson Institute: 451 N. LaSalle Drive Chicago, IL 60654.

The Teacher Leadership Team (TLT) is composed of selected teachers who have demonstrated strong usage of Facing History materials.

The Team will consist of teachers from a variety of middle and high schools throughout the greater Chicagoland area, and who are teaching in the content areas of History, Social Studies, English, Language Arts, and/or Humanities.

Through participation in the TLT educators will deepen their own work with and knowledge of Facing History, and have the opportunity to further build a community of core teachers. This year's theme will center on the teaching of inclusive American history.
