Single Session
Our single professional learning sessions are designed to easily fit into your day. Typically one hour or less, these sessions explore timely and relevant topics including teaching strategies, current events, and more.
Instructor-Led
This professional learning event will be led by Facing History staff. When you register, you will receive instructions for how to attend the event.
This in-person event will offer participants the opportunity to explore Facing History’s current initiatives and resources, including: new ELA and US History units and text sets, teaching about Contemporary Antisemitism, our new approach to teaching civics, and the classroom resource “Teaching About Hate Crimes and Their Impacts” created in partnership with the NYC Mayor’s office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes.
Educators are welcome to come by anytime during the 4:00 - 6:00 pm open house.
Educators at this open house will:
- Learn about Facing History’s vast collection of resources including:
- The new Civics Elective for a Seal of Civic Readiness
- Contemporary Antisemitism
- Facing History’s ELA Collection
- Fostering Civil Discourse Guide
- Teaching About Hate Crimes and Their Impacts.
- Teaching About Current Events
- New inquiries and units on US History
- Engage with Facing History and Ourselves’ NY Program Team
This event will be held in-person at the New York office of Facing History and Ourselves. Pizza and salad will be provided.
This event is intended for middle and high school educators and will occur in-person at Facing History & Ourselves NYC Office.
