During the retreat, we will:

  1. Learn and reflect about how belonging supports school culture and academic achievement

  2. Engage with Facing History & Ourselves resources that will support you in building inclusive, equitable, and nurturing classrooms and schools

  3. Connect with other Facing History & Ourselves educators

We have fabulous guest facilitators coming to lead sessions on care for self and creating trust and belonging in your school. Please join us to engage in a day of learning, reflection, and engagement with other Facing History & Ourselves educators: 

  • Sessions for classroom educators: How can I incorporate social emotional learning competencies and cultural responsiveness in my ELA or Social Studies curriculum to address borders, belonging, and inclusivity? 
  • Sessions for school leaders: How do I build trust and belonging for the educators, students, and families in my school community?

Certificate of Completion

This event qualifies for a Certificate of Completion. At the conclusion of the event, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for 7.5 hour(s) of attendance. Certificates may be submitted for a school’s or district’s approval towards professional development credits. Requirements for professional development credits vary by state. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they are meeting the requirements of their school, organization, and/or state.
