We asked FedEx why they have supported Facing History over the years. They thoughtfully shared some moving insights into why Facing History offers value to schools, society, and the FedEx Corporation.

1. What excites you about Facing History & Ourselves?
   
   Facing History & Ourselves makes us feel hopeful that a world without injustice can exist. By instilling values grounded in respect, empathy, and kindness, middle and high school students build the capacity to use these skills early and use them often. It is exciting to consider a generation of individuals capable of recognizing injustice when they see it and being willing and able to speak up every time.
2. There are a lot of nonprofits that help teachers and students. There are lots of nonprofits that make the world a better place. What sets Facing History apart and makes it worth supporting?
   
   Facing History helps create a foundation of mutual respect among individuals and groups that enables other social change to happen. This work gets at the root of why inequality exists—and other programs can be more successful when individuals have the tools and values taught by Facing History. As more young people embrace a more empathetic mindset, they influence those around them, and so on. The impact is truly catalytic. 
3. It’s easy for Facing History to say what we get from donors: without you our work wouldn’t be possible. But we hope this is a mutually beneficial relationship. For a donor like you, what do you get from Facing History?
   
   This is certainly a mutually beneficial relationship. Facing History connects FedEx to their best-in-class community of teachers and practitioners creating more equitable communities. Our FedEx Cares DEI strategy is focused on encouraging learning and leadership, empowering economic opportunity, and advancing inclusion and allyship: Facing History touches all three. This work is also creating a future workforce who values inclusion and diversity—qualities we celebrate at FedEx and look for in our team members. 
4. What do you want prospective donors (or educators new to Facing History) to know about this organization? How would you encourage them to jump in?
   
   The best way to get to know Facing History is to attend one of their programs to see the work in action. Or view the videos of the lessons posted online. It is incredible to watch teachers skillfully guide students through conversations that many adults are afraid to have. To see students of different backgrounds and cultures have open dialogue and gain true understanding of each other’s perspectives is inspiring. Facing History’s approach is professional, incredibly well-researched, and beautifully executed. We consider them a trusted expert and valuable partner.
