Guide to Continuing Education Credit for Professional Learning

Illinois state-certified educators are eligible to receive clock hours for full participation in select self-paced and synchronous + asynchronous professional learning offerings. Please verify the eligibility of the experience you register for. Note that we are not able to offer clock hours for webinars. 

Per the state of Illinois, we are able to offer clock hours to the nearest quarter-hour for the actual time spent engaged in professional learning. For in-person learning, time is determined by actual attendance at an event. For online learning, attendance is tracked through synchronous sessions and through engagement with the online learning platform. Awarded clock hours vary based on the real-time length of the professional learning. 

In order to receive clock hours if eligible, educators must:

1. Provided their Illinois Educator Number (IEN)

2. Sign in and out of professional learning with a registered email address. 

3. Submit the ISBE Request Form

4. Complete the ISBE Evaluation Form 77-21A.

5. Retain the ISBE Evidence of Completion Form 77-21B. Educators are responsible for registering their clock hours with the state.

Please allow up to 14 business days following professional learning to complete the clock hours process.

Facing History & Ourselves is certified to provide Professional Development Points (PDPs) in Massachusetts for self-paced and synchronous + asynchronous professional learning offerings. We are not able to offer PDPs for webinars. Our content areas are History/Social Science, English Language Arts/Literacy, and Safe & Supportive Learning Environments. Any combination of 10 hours of programming can be used to satisfy the Massachusetts Department of Education requirements. Facing History & Ourselves is certified to provide Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credit in New York for self-paced and synchronous + asynchronous professional learning offerings. We are not able to offer CTLE for webinars. Content areas are History, English Language Arts, and Social Emotional Learning.

After attendance reconciling is completed, Facing History will send a form for you to complete. Please allow 14 business days for this process.

Facing History & Ourselves will provide Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit in Texas for self-paced and synchronous + asynchronous professional learning offerings. We are not able to offer CPE hours for webinars. Content areas are History, English Language Arts, and Social Emotional Learning. At the conclusion of any event offered for CPE credit, we will provide educators in attendance with a certificate confirming our CPE provider number and the number of clock-hours that count toward satisfying CPE requirements.
