Join Our Legacy Community: Invest in the Next Generation of Upstanders

Including Facing History in your overall estate or financial plans is a powerful way to ensure your values and generosity live on for future generations.

Facing History’s Legacy Community

The Facing History Legacy Community comprises generations of dedicated supporters, educators and former students who have experienced the impact of Facing History’s work first-hand. Members of our Legacy Community are deeply committed to Facing History’s mission, with their support serving as a tangible way to ensure future generations of upstanders are equipped to stand up to racism, antisemitism, and all forms of bigotry and hate.

  • Bequests and Beneficiary Designations

  • Securities
Donate appreciated stocks, mutual funds, or bonds and attain potential tax benefits.
  • Life Insurance
Name Facing History as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy you no longer need, with little current cost to you.
  • IRA Charitable Rollover
If you are at least 70 1⁄2 years old, you can gift up to $100,000 tax-free annually from your IRA and potentially lower your taxes.
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
Transfer cash or assets to a charitable remainder trust for income payments to you or a loved one for life or a set term of years.
  • Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
Contributing through a DAF is a simple, cost-effective option that can provide you with immediate tax benefits and allow for greater philanthropic impact

Facing History encourages you to speak with your financial advisor and/or estate-planning attorney to discuss your options further.

Teaching young people to be critical thinkers and to have empathy and compassion is essential. Supporting Facing History gives fundamental meaning to my life.

Meet our Legacy Community Co-Chairs, Marci & Michael Sapers

“We believe that the work of Facing History has never been timelier nor more important as our society continues to become increasingly polarized, and as hatred, racism, bigotry, and antisemitism continue to become more prevalent. Facing History & Ourselves enables young people in their most formative years to confront bigotry and hate in all its forms. The program helps them build empathy, civic agency, and the ability to engage in civil discourse—skills that they will take with them through life.

With our legacy gift to Facing History, we are proud to continue our family’s support of this impactful organization and encourage others to do the same.”
