We recommend creating a free account to get full access to all that Facing History has to offer! With your account, you’ll be able to save resources to your collections, keep track of upcoming events, and have access to the latest tools and guidance.

Visit our Sign Up page to create your account. You’ll have the option of registering with an email or with Google or Clever Single Sign-On.

The first time you log into our new site, you will need to complete your profile, which means telling us a bit about your role, affirming that you are 16+, and filling out some other required fields. The information you share will help us to connect you with more relevant resources and events, and you’ll only have to do this once! As soon as your profile is complete, you can start navigating around the site.

To find your school within our system, first go to Account Settings and then click My Profile. Fill in your country and then state/region (if applicable). When you start typing the name of your school, the list of schools should automatically populate.

If you can’t locate your school from the generated list, then please click the "Can't find your school?" option from the dropdown below. There, you'll be able to add your school into our system. (Once added, please make sure to also clear the "School Name" text box so that the newly entered school details may be properly recorded and saved in our system.)

To reset your password, enter your email address to get sent a reset password link. Use that link to enter a new password and access your account.

If you are not receiving an email with a password reset link, you may have set up your account using a social sign-in such as Google or Clever. Try logging in with your social account instead.

Yes, we do. Below, you will find information regarding Certificates of Completion based on the type of professional development you engage with at Facing History. If your event is in Zoom, be sure to join the call with your full name and not a nickname so that we’re able to identify who to send the Certificate of Completion to.

Online Summer Seminars, Online Workshops, and Online Mini-Courses with Live Sessions

We generally issue certificates two weeks after the professional learning event ends. Certificates are emailed to participants who attended live sessions and completed the event evaluation. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive your certificate.

Self-Paced Online Courses, Self-Paced Online Mini-Courses, and Self-Paced Online Workshops

Once you have successfully navigated through the full course in Canvas, you'll be able to download the certificate PDF on the last page. Be sure to click all the way to the end of the course. The certificate is generated by an online certificate provider (Accredible) and will be emailed to you automatically.

Webinars

After you’ve viewed the webinar, you may download the certificate from the resource collection located in the event chat and the On-Demand page.

In-Person Workshops and Seminars

Certificates of Completion and eligibility for continuing education credit vary for in-person events. Please check the listing of the specific event for details, or reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

Continuing Education Credits

For questions regarding Professional Development (PD) eligibility, please view our Guide to Continuing Education Credit for Professional Learning and check with your school or district to ensure that Certificates of Completion will meet their PD requirements.
