Responding to Violence Against Women and Gender Inequality in the UK

The murders of sisters Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman in June 2020, Sarah Everard in March 2021, Sabina Nessa in September 2021, Ashling Murphy in January 2022 and Zara Aleena in June 2022 have ignited national discussion about the endemic nature of violence against women and the fatal impacts of gender inequality.

It is important to have conversations with students about violence against women, its societal causes, and the events that surround it, but such sensitive conversations are always difficult for teachers to facilitate.

Join us for a one-hour conversation in which we will provide activities and resources for helping students discuss violence and gender inequality in the classroom in a supported and reflective way, and where there will be the opportunity to share experiences with and learn from other teachers.

This event is aimed at teachers in the UK.

Details for joining the Zoom meeting will be shared by email prior to the event.
