With COP 27 beginning this week, it is an important opportunity for us to reflect on our relationship with our home planet and the creatures that we share it with, and the climate and ecological emergency that we are living through. Despite the global commitment to tackling climate change, as the IPCC reports and unstable weather events continue to show, it still remains an existential threat that we all need to be concerned about. The climate crisis, however, given its implications for the future of humanity, is a challenging topic to discuss in a safe way with students.
Join us for a one-hour conversation to look at ways in which to broach this issue in the classroom in a constructive and hopeful way, and to connect with other teachers interested in doing the same. We will provide activities and resources, and there will be the opportunity to share experiences with and learn from other teachers.
Please note, this session is not about covering the scientific content surrounding climate change, but in helping your students emotionally process the climate and ecological emergency that we are facing.
This event is aimed at teachers in the UK.
Details for joining the Zoom meeting will be shared by email prior to the event.
