Re-engaging with Our Institutional Missions: A Conversation for School Leaders in Jewish Settings

The Covid-19 pandemic has presented tremendous challenges to classroom educators, students, and the school leaders that strive to support and guide them. Schools have risen to meet this challenge, innovating and adjusting in truly inspiring ways on an almost daily basis to provide a consistent, high standard of learning and community for students and families.

Due to near-instantaneous pivots to online learning, hybrid educational models and constantly changing initiatives for health and safety, many schools have needed to pause efforts that, while central to the school’s mission, were less urgent in this unprecedented time. Please join Facing History staff and fellow Jewish day school leaders as we learn strategies and evaluative tools that will help benchmark and track how we re-engage with our unique institutional missions and reconnect with longstanding goals.

Our new Director of Jewish Education, Rabbi Yehudah Potok, will lead the conversation with Dennis Barr, Facing History Director of Evaluation. For over two decades, Rabbi Potok has worked in Jewish education settings -- camps, congregational schools, and Jewish Day Schools, including 12 years as a Head of School.

This workshop is intended for educational leadership and administration team members, including principals and heads of school. The program will be held via Zoom. Details for joining the Zoom meeting will be shared by email prior to the event.

The second event in this leadership series will take place on November 17th.
