Planning Your Facing History Unit

Please join us for a collaborative work session to plan your Facing History unit for second semester. You will have the opportunity to work with both Facing History staff members and fellow teachers as you plan a 3-6+ week unit built around Facing History’s progression of themes: our scope and sequence. We will share models of standards-based units and support you in designing assessments and learning activities that incorporate critical literacy and writing skills using Facing History's core case studies and rich resources.

This work session is intended for middle and high schools teachers or teacher teams who have previously attended Facing History professional development and are planning a Facing History case study unit including:

  • Holocaust and Human Behavior

  • The Reconstruction Era & the Fragility of Democracy

  • Choices in Little Rock

  • The Armenian Genocide

  • Teaching To Kill a Mockingbird

  • Race and Membership

Please reach out to your program associate if you would like support planning a unit using additional Facing History resources. Dinner will be served, and 3 clock hours are available for full participation.

$10 registration fee will be waived for Partner School participants.
