Please join us for a collaborative work session to plan your Facing History unit for the 2017-2018 school year. You will have the opportunity to work with both Facing History staff members and fellow teachers as you plan your 4-6+ week unit built around Facing History’s progression of themes: our scope and sequence. We will share models of standards-based units and support you in designing assessments and learning activities that incorporate critical literacy and writing skills using Facing History's core case studies. We will also share primary sources, scholar videos, and pedagogy that can be used within your unit.
This work session is intended for middle and high schools teachers or teacher teams who are planning a Facing History case study unit including:
Holocaust and Human Behavior
The Reconstruction Era & the Fragility of Democracy
Choices in Little Rock
The Armenian Genocide
Teaching To Kill a Mockingbird
Breakfast and lunch will be served and 4 clock hours are available for full participation.
$10 registration fee will be waived for Partner School participants.
