Presented by Facing History and Ourselves and International Paper in partnership with The Orpheum Theatre.
Facing History and Ourselves and International Paper are proud to present a conversation with Anthony Ray Hinton, author of The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row, a powerful account of human dignity and hope and the fight for justice. Mr. Hinton was wrongly convicted of two murders outside of Birmingham, Alabama, in 1985, and spent nearly 30 years on death row before he was exonerated in 2015. Today, Mr. Hinton works as a Community Educator for the Equal Justice Initiative.
Mr. Hinton will lead a discussion about his own experiences and the continued fight for justice in America, followed by a Q&A.
This event brings together hundreds of students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community members from across the Greater Memphis area.
