Angie Deane

Angie Deane joined Facing History & Ourselves as Chief Officer of Development in September of 2025. In this role, she leads the organization’s fundraising strategy and, in partnership with the Development team, CEO and senior leadership, local Advisory Boards and the Board of Directors, will expand and diversify Facing History’s funding base in order to grow its programs into new geographies and schools. 

Prior to Facing History, Angie worked at Human Rights Watch for nearly 13 years. Most recently, she served as Chief Development Officer where she oversaw a global Development team and revenue of $100 million. Earlier in her career, she held development leadership roles at the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect in New York and the Genocide Intervention Network in Washington, DC.  

Angie holds an MA in Global Affairs from New York University and a BA in French and Communications from Miami University and the Sorbonne.
