When Jimmie joined the Skoll Foundation in 2020, he had more than two decades of experience as a journalist, author and activist. He was a co-founder and executive director emeritus of Man Up Campaign, a global initiative to activate youth to stop violence against women and girls. This led to his selection as the winner of the 2010 GQ Magazine "Better Men Better World" search, and as one of the Women's eNews '21 Leaders for the 21st Century'. Jimmie has served as an adjunct professor of investigative journalism at the New School for Social Research and was a George A Miller Visiting Professor in the Department of African and African-American Studies at the University of Illinois: Champaign-Urbana.

Erin Carstensen began her teaching career in 1998 as a Teach for America Corps member, teaching fourth to eighth grade before pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work at UC Berkeley. She returned to be part of the founding faculty of Essex Street Academy (ESA), a small high school located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City. She spent 12 years teaching there before becoming the Principal in 2010. 

In 2016, Erin joined Community Roots, a Roots ConnectED learning site, as the Middle School Co-Director. She is passionate and committed to the school’s focus on anti-bias education and inclusion, and believes deeply in the work that Roots ConnectED does to support schools in becoming transformative, anti-oppressive spaces that honor both the community and the individual. 

Kimberly Coombs is the K-12 Holocaust Studies Program Planner in the School District of Palm Beach County, the nation's tenth-largest urban school district. She holds an undergraduate degree in education from Plymouth State College in New Hampshire and a Masters of Education from Florida Atlantic University. With a career spanning three decades in Palm Beach County Schools, Kim began as a classroom teacher, dedicating two decades to teaching. She later transitioned to roles within the District's Regional office, enhancing teacher capacity and eventually becoming a Single School Culture Coordinator. Within the Department of Teaching and Learning, she continued her work by training teachers, offering support, and developing educational content. In her current role, Kimberly oversees Holocaust Curriculum and resources for the Holocaust Studies Elective across thirty-four middle and high schools. She ensures compliance with Florida State Statute for Required Instruction, including the History of the Holocaust curriculum for grades K-12 annually, reflecting her commitment to fulfilling this essential educational mandate.

Michael Feuer is Dean of the Graduate School of Education and Human Development and Professor of Education Policy at The George Washington University, Past President of the National Academy of Education, and Nonresident Senior Fellow in the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution. 

In the fall of 2014, President Obama appointed Dean Feuer as a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Board for Education Sciences. Feuer received his BA (cum laude) in English literature from Queens College (CUNY), MA in public management from the Wharton School, and PhD in public policy analysis from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the host of the education podcast EdFix.

Jonathan Judaken is the Gloria M. Goldstein Chair of Jewish History and Thought at Washington University. He is the author of academic articles on the history of existentialism, anti-Semitism, racism, and on post-Holocaust French Jewish thought. His new monograph entitled, Critical Theories of Anti-Semitism will come out next March.

Judaken wrote the lead article for a round table in the American Historical Review titled Rethinking Anti-Semitism. Judaken has also published journalistic and op-ed pieces in Ha’aretz, Inside Higher Ed, the Huffington Post, Tablet, Tikkun, and the Forward. 

Judaken is currently the U.S. Contributing Editor for the journal Patterns of Prejudice, on the Associate Editorial Board for the journal Critical Philosophy of Race, the Editorial Board for Jewish Historical Studies, and serves on the international board of scholars for Facing History & Ourselves. He was a founding member of the International Consortium for Research on Antisemitism and Racism.

Martha Minow is 300th Anniversary University Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. Martha Minow has taught at Harvard Law School since 1981, where her courses include civil procedure, constitutional law, family law, fairness and privacy, international criminal justice, jurisprudence, law and education, nonprofit organizations, and the public law workshop. An expert in human rights and advocacy for members of racial and religious minorities and for women, children, and persons with disabilities, she also writes and teaches about AI and legal issues, and about how societies transition from war and atrocities to regimes committed to democracy and justice. Minow served as Dean of Harvard Law School between 2009 and 2017, as the inaugural Morgan and Helen Chu Dean and Professor. She currently is the chair of the MacArthur Foundation, and a member of the governing boards of the the Campaign Legal Center (nonpartisan voting rights group), the Carnegie Corporation (philanthropy), and GBH (public media). She also co-chairs the advisory group for MIT's new Schwartzman College of Computing. Minow completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, then earned an M.Ed. from Harvard and a J.D. from Yale.

Elizabeth Clay Roy is a lifelong leader of civic engagement and social change initiatives, and the new Chief Executive Officer of Generation Citizen, a national nonprofit committed to providing youth with the knowledge and skills they need to actively participate in our democracy. Leading Generation Citizen brings Elizabeth full circle to her childhood roots, when she campaigned door to door for candidates in Boston before she was old enough to vote. She was so active in voter registration drives that PBS’s show In the Mix chose her to lead youth coverage of the 2000 Presidential election.

Prior to joining Generation Citizen, Elizabeth was Executive Director of TakeRoot Justice, a New York City-based social justice organization that supports grassroots organizations and provides legal services to over 2000 clients each year. Elizabeth’s work at TakeRoot Justice built on her success as an entrepreneurial and collaborative leader, especially as Chief of Staff at Phipps Neighborhoods where she co-led South Bronx Rising Together, an education equity collective impact partnership. Elizabeth was the founding Deputy Director of Opportunity Nation, a national campaign to expand economic mobility where, with research partner Measure of America, she created the Opportunity Index, a first-of-its-kind measurement of contributing factors for economic opportunity at the state and local level. She began her career working in participatory planning in India and serving Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick as a Policy Advisor and the Director of Grassroots Governance.

Elizabeth co-authored Shaping Vibrant Cities, a guidebook on effective community-led urban planning based on her participatory governance work with Janaagraha in Bangalore, India. A long-time champion of experiential learning, she serves on the Board of World Learning, a leader in study abroad and global development.

Kidada E. Williams studies African American victims and survivors of racist violence. She is the author of I Saw Death Coming and They Left Great Marks on Me; co-editor of #CharlestonSyllabus; host and co-producer of “Seizing Freedom,” a podcast docudrama that covered the epic story of African Americans' fight for freedom during the Civil War Era. And, she is a Professor of History at Wayne State University in Detroit.
