Who Is an Upstander?

Looking to share the Facing History and Ourselves story? Our latest video, "Who Is an Upstander?," packs our complex mission into just over two minutes of animated punch.

The heroes we need today don't need super powers. They need to speak up in the face of injustice.  Ask questions. Empathize. Combat bigotry. Nurture democracy. We call them upstanders.

Through a transformational curriculum taught in classrooms around the globe, Facing History and Ourselves helps students learn to confront their own prejudices, think critically, and get involved in their world.

To transform our planet into a peaceful and just world requires nothing less than engaged, educated citizens.  Lots and lots of them.
