This film is based on a compilation of Nazi photographic records. It depicts the Warsaw Ghetto from its creation in 1940 until its destruction in 1943, and includes scenes of atrocity and starvation as well as the daily lives of Jews within the Ghetto and their struggle to maintain their culture, religion and dignity. One Holocaust scholar warns that the use of this film might encourage stereotypes.
