This documentary produced by Steven Spielberg draws on the rich tapestry of hundreds of survivor voices talking about their experiences as Jews in Europe during the years spanning 1938 to 1945. The film is structured chronologically, with many voices narrating a small personal anecdote, interspersed with historical footage and background information. It effectively conveys both the diversity of survivor experiences and the enormous scope of the Holocaust. The accompanying study guide, produced by Facing History and Ourselves, includes a timeline and post-view discussion questions.
