This outline examines the experiences of German painter George Grosz during the turbulent years of the Weimar Republic, and provides students with opportunities to interpret his paintings as a means to deepen their understanding of the political, economic, and social tensions of the period. Readings from Holocaust and Human Behavior are used, as well as several resource websites focusing on Grosz and the Weimar Republic.
