Youth Activism Project

The Youth Activism Project is a nonpartisan organization that seeks to improve the civic engagement of young people. The website includes many resources to help youth get involved in addressing the needs of communities on a local, national and global level including a list of strategies, descriptions of successful youth activism projects, and a guide for adult-sponsors.


Discussion Questions: 
  • The Youth Activism Project argues that, "Maximum youth involvement is absolutely essential for building a smarter, healthier and more peaceful world." To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? What do you think "maximum" youth involvement looks like?
  • Review the success stories listed on the website. Which one is particularly interesting or impressive to you? Why?
  • What obstacles keep youth from getting involved in their communities and larger world?  What could be done to create conditions that would encourage more youth to become involved in their communities and larger world?
