(Holocaust Studies) "Remembering the Holocaust: Six Key Lessons" is a speech presented by Professor Irwin Cotler at the United Nations headquarters in Europe.  In this address, Professor Cotler connects the Holocaust to contemporary genocides, including the current genocide in Darfur, and makes a case for studying the Holocaust in order to prevent future atrocities.
Discussion Questions

  • What is the relationship between the Holocaust and other genocides?
  • What does it mean to be "complicit in the face of evil?"
  • According to Professor Cotler, is genocide preventable? What would it take to prevent future genocides?
