(International Herald Tribune, January 24, 2008) The 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing is supposed to showcase China at its best. Yet, some people have argued that the Olympics should be used as an opportunity to draw attention to China's relationship with the government of Sudan - a government that has been accused on genocide. In the editorial, "China's Genocide Olympics," Nicholas Kristof discusses the potentially powerful role China could play in encouraging Kartoum to end violence against civilians in Darfur.
