Facing History has
acquired much needed additional space for our Headquarters offices on
the bottom floor the St. Mary's Elementary School building next door.
Construction is nearly complete. The combined space will be known as
the Facing History and Ourselves Headquarters Campus and its
improvements will significantly increase our capacity to deliver
program services across the entire Facing History global network. The
new space in the elementary school building will serve as the Facing
History and Ourselves Professional Development Center. It will house
our Resource Library and provide expanded facilities for meetings,
seminars and community conversations. Our plan is to move the library
into its new facilities in November and to have the entire space fully
operational by the end of next month.
The renovations on the first floor of the current building will also
allow us to better accommodate our growing staff - who are bringing
online and face to face programs to educators around the world. As an
added benefit, the renovations will enhance space for the school's
programs - furthering our ability to be a good neighbor to 200
schoolchildren from all over the greater Boston area and enabling the
upper grades of the school to continue to use Facing History classroom
resources.
