Angeles regional office opened in July 1994, more than 1500 local
educators have participated in Facing History's professional
development programs. These teachers annually reach over 150,000 middle
and high school students in over 140 public, religious and independent
schools throughout Southern California.

- 06/20/2008It was clear from the overwhelming public response to our Community Conversation Film as a Catalyst for Social Change, sponsored by The Allstate Foundation, that people are eager to discuss how filmmakers can make a difference.
- 06/20/2008Garfield High student Barbara Silva was awarded "Best Student of the Year" out of all students across the U.S. engaged on the 27 projects sponsored by The History Channel. Barbara credits her Facing History teacher, Claudia Rojas, for involving her in the project which explored local Los Angeles history through the experience of lowrider culture.

Facing History is
actively used in history, literature, interdisciplinary, government and
specially designed Facing History electives. In addition to being
incorporated into K-12 schools, Facing History is also taught in
colleges and universities.
