Summer Volunteer Opportunities for Students

May 2, 2008
We're looking for a few outstanding students to help with our summer seminars. As the cornerstone of our work with teachers, Facing History seminars provide the latest scholarship on historical events and offer teaching strategies. The student volunteer would help with logistic support for the seminar and get to attend the entire five-day event. This is a great opportunity for a student who loves history, wants to learn more about working in a nonprofit environment, or is interested in becoming a teacher!

Student should be a high school junior or senior, or in college. Each seminar involves a two-week commitment: The week before the seminar in the Facing History office, and the week of the seminar on location. Must have transportation. We can't offer a stipend, but upon successful completion student will receive a certificate of participation, which can be used toward service learning requirements and on college applications.
