Professional Development in Lisburn, Northern Ireland

January 17, 2013

An upcoming Facing History and Ourselves course on the Holocaust was the focus of a Northern Ireland newspaper feature. The Ulster Star from Lisburn highlighted “Lessons From The Holocaust,” a six-session professional development course for educators presented in partnership with the WAVE Trauma Centre and the Lisburn City Council. The course, which explores lessons learned from violence and genocide, begins Tuesday, 5 March at the Lisburn Civic Centre.

The course comes as Lisburn plans various ways to honor Holocaust Memorial Day 2013.  “This event provides an opportunity for reflection on the past and provokes thought on how we can all personally contribute to a stronger community without discrimination,” Lisburn Councillor Thomas Beckett said.

Read more about the course in the Ulster Star and on the Lisburn City Council website.
