Phyllis Goldstein Discusses A Convenient Hatred on Detroit Radio

January 22, 2012

Author Phyllis Goldstein discussed Facing History and Ourselves' latest publication, A Convenient Hatred: The History of Antisemitism, on Detroit's only Jewish radio program earlier this month. Host Rabbi Herschel Finman asked Goldstein to explain the ways in which antisemitism is a convenient hatred. "It's convenient for the larger society,” she said. "We know that antisemitism rises in times of discomfort, anxiety, fear, when people are looking for someone to blame."

Listen to"The History of Antisemitism" on Rabbi Finman’s website. The interview begins at minute 5:36 and lasts until minute 33.
