Huffington Post Interview with Roxana Saberi, Journalist, Author, and Friend of Facing History

October 19, 2011

The Huffington Post published an interview with Iranian American journalist and author Roxana Saberi ahead of her October 19 talk with Facing History and Ourselves audiences in Chicago. Roxana’s 2010 book, Between Two Worlds: My Life and Captivity in Iran, depicts the story of her wrongful imprisonment in Iran, the friends she made during her captivity, and her life in Iran before the arrest. Roxana, who appears as part of Facing History’s Community Conversation series made possible by The Allstate Foundation, spoke to audiences at Northwestern University’s downtown campus about the importance of human rights in Iran and ways to take action.

“Each one of us can make a difference, whether we are in Chicago, Fargo (my hometown), or in New York City. If enough people speak out against injustices over a continuous period of time, they can make a positive impact,” Roxana told the Huffington Post. “At the very least, those who are facing injustices will realize they are not alone.”
