On October 6, 2009, author Dr. Alvin Poussaint joined Facing History and Ourselves in Memphis for a Community Conversation presented by Facing History and the Allstate Foundation. Before the event, Wendi Thomas, a columnist for the Commercial Appeal interviewed Dr. Alvin Poussaint and Facing History's senior director Rachel Shankman, about the event and Poussaint's latest book co-authored with Bill Cosby, Come on People.
