2009 Chicago Benefit Dinner Promotes Interfaith Understanding and Cooperation
On Friday, May 9th, 750 people gathered at the Hilton Chicago Hotel for Facing History and Ourselves 18th Annual Chicago Benefit Dinner. Chaired by Carole & Gordon Segal, this year’s dinner raised over $1 million, a reflection of the endless commitment of Facing History’s donors and supporters.
The 2009 Chicago Benefit Dinner featured speaker was Dr. Eboo Patel, founder and executive director of Interfaith Youth Core in Chicago. Patel is a prominent Muslim leader who works tirelessly to encourage interfaith understanding and cooperation among young people of all faiths. The evening also featured students sharing the impact of Facing History on their lives, and a local principal sharing moving testimony of the positive influence on student engagement and culture at his school through partnership with Facing History.
