$150,000 Grant for Downtown Schools

March 2, 2010

The John W. Carson Foundation has awarded the Los Angeles office a three-year, $150,000 grant to do work in a cohort of schools in downtown Los Angeles, an area in need of significant support for disadvantaged students.  Building on strong existing relationships we have with teachers and schools in downtown, this grant will enable Facing History to develop a connected, sustainable network of Facing History schools and teachers and provide intensive professional development and support. This whole school approach will impact hundreds of additional students through the transformation of school culture.
