Fernando Reimers: Harvard Professor and Director of the Intenational Education Policy Program
Understanding how teachers and schools can best prepare students for democratic citizenship is one of Ford Foundation Professor Fernando Reimers'
main research goals. Impressed by Facing History's success in
developing tolerance, he has helped Facing History scale up its global
programs and to become more prominent among leaders of education policy
and practice in Latin America. As the Director of the International
Education Policy Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education,
Reimers invites Facing History staff to present workshops to his
graduate students-allowing us to educate future leaders, educators and
policymakers of education worldwide.
"Facing History and Ourselves does remarkably good work teaching young people to think deeply about the relationship between history and individual responsibility. I admire their pioneering work and value the global professional community they have created to help advance the moral purposes of schools." - Fernando Reimers
