The Kaiser Wilhelm Institute and the Eugenics Records Office
Continue Their Partnership

Eugen FischerIn 1928, researchers at the Eugenics Record Office in New York and the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Anthropology, Eugenics, and Human Heredity in Berlin prepared a questionnaire about miscegenation for distribution to physicians, missionaries, and consulate officials around the world. They hoped to gather data on the eugenic consequences of "race mixing." Charles Davenport and Eugen Fischer, the directors of the two research institutes, also formed a Committee on Race Crossing within the International Federation of Eugenic Organizations. German eugenicist Fritz Lenz chaired the group and urged further research on marriages between "Nordics" and Jews.
